The Serendipity Education School

The Serendipity Education School is a small, independent school providing specialist, therapeutic provision combined with outstanding education for girls aged 9 to 19 years old. Rated as Outstanding by Ofsted and recognised as a Centre of Excellence, our highly skilled staff provide a safe, nurturing environment which ensures all of our girls flourish and achieve exceptional outcomes.

The experienced and well-qualified staff team provide an outstanding education for girls with high anxiety, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs; Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC); Attachment Disorder; Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs); Learning Difficulties; Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD); Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and complex needs.

Our students often arrive with a disrupted educational experience, school phobia, lengthy periods of time out of school or having struggled where their needs have not previously been met. Through staff expertise in Trauma Informed Practices and a nationally recognised unique programme of assessing and teaching Emotional Literacy, The Serendipity Education School provides the rare opportunity for girls to feel the security needed to learn personally identified life-success skills. The combination of this approach, our team of specialist therapists and psychologists, our bespoke educational programmes and our high staff-to-student ratio offers our girls the opportunity to begin to regain confidence in their own ability, build self-esteem and resilience and reignite enjoyment in learning through positive experiences.

We provide an ambitious, challenging and personalised curriculum where we respond to our students’ diverse learning needs, help them overcome barriers to learning, celebrate success in all aspects of their lives and ensure the best possible outcomes.

The school is situated on the outskirts of Southampton, registered for up to 20 students and, as part of The Serendipity Centre, we also have the ability to provide residential places for children who are looked after if this is required.

Pupils, parents and carers recognise the life-changing impact of attending this school. One pupil, who told us (OFSTED) the biggest difference the school has made to her, said, ‘I’m not predicted to fail all my GCSEs anymore.– Ofsted 2021
